Re: Close or open embrace?

It is my understanding that close embrace evolved because of its practical nature when danced in the  crowded inner milongas of BA and the ladies of BA tell me they go to milongas  because the close embrace allowes them a few minutes of imaginary dalliance  with their partner. In this type of milonga in BA I have never experienced a situation when the lady did not immediately assume a close embrace position.
The open embrace dancers seek out the less crowded milogas or arrive when many  have gone home and they have room to dance.
I prefer close embrace because the connection is personal. If a follower does not engage me in close embrace I will dance at the distance apart the follower has set, the dance can be very enjoyable but for me, the richness and essence of  the dance is wasted.
