ANIBAL TROILO 1914 - 1975 : Bandoneon player, leader and composer.

"Pichuco" (Troilo) was an inspired composer and the creator of pieces made to last forever, as also his renditions of others’ works which became masterpieces of all times. He chose the best musicians and singers of the utmost importance as members of his orchestras.
He played bandoneon from the age of 10 and throughout his life. He played with many famous orchestras before forming his own orchestra in 1938. The renowned bandoneonist Astor Piazzolla played in and arranged for his orquesta típica during the period 1939-1944. Troilo recorded an extensive number of major compositions.
Troilo’s music is characterised by the change of dynamics (and the many syncopations) in the music: its playfulness and sharp contrasts: he did not hesitate to mix staccato rhythms with soft moments. The bandoneon takes centre stage – both for beat and for the variations.
Dancing to Troilo :

Adapt walking to the different dynamics and anticipate the changes.

Dynamics from staccato rhythm to quiet and soft phrases.
Listen to the bandoneons.
