Rodrigo & AgustinaRODRIGO & AGUSTINA:

Guest performers direct from Buenos Aires!

Rodrigo Palacios and Agustina Berenstein are currently considered one of the most influential young couples of tango and its evolution and future. They are loved for their originality in both dance style and teaching techniques. Their work is centred on the Salon style in close embrace, combining traditional sensibilities and spiral movements with their younger fresh experimental spirit. For the past two years they have been teaching at ‘Salon Canning’, one of Buenos Aires’ best known milongas. They also have a busy international performing and teaching schedule.

We can't wait for their only NSW performance, at the Grand Milonga on Saturday night!

FREE WORKSHOPS

Nelson & LizCANYENGUE

Saturday 4-5pm

Canyengue is the grandfather of tango, dating from 1890-1920. Danced in a unique kind of close embrace with a slight tilt, Canyengue is characterised by its playfulness and lilting rhythm. Nelson, Sydney’s recognized authority on Canyengue, has kindly offered to share his vast knowledge with us once again, along with his partner Liz. This will be their last Canyengue class in Australia before they move to Buenos Aires!

FridaDANCE TO THE MUSIC

Sunday 11am-12.30pm

A musicality workshop from professional musician and experienced Tango dancer, Frida Kotlyar. Frida will give a dancer-focussed explanation of the differences between tango, waltz (vals) and milonga, with demonstrations, as well as a discussion of what distinguishes famous orchestras such as Di Sarli, D’Arienzo, Biagi and Pugliese. All so that you can dance better with the music!
